1. Can this product be installed under the waterline of my boat?

Yes, BoatShield is designed to cover the entire keel of your kayak. As BoatShield comes in different lengths, it is up to you to determine how much you need and where to place it.

Do I have to use glue to attach this to my boat?

BoatShield is already attached with adhesive tape. All you have to do is clean the desired area to make sure that there is no dirt. Then apply BoatShield onto the area.

Do I have to repair existing keel scraps before installing a keel protector?

Nope, you just have to make sure that existing scraps are thoroughly cleaned before application. For deep scrapes, we would recommend that you first sand the area before using BoatShield.

Do you have to remove paint from a painted surface, or can you apply BoatShield right over it?

Don’t worry! You can install BoatShield right over painted areas. Do keep in mind that before installation, you should clean the desired surface well to ensure maximum adhesion.
